Hyde Hall, Essex

Most of the photographs on this page were taken in July 2020, as the first Covid lockdown was lifting and the RHS Garden at Hyde Hall opened once again, with immaculate lawns, amazing borders, and socially-distanced coffee from the cart! But I've added other images to show the beauty of being there even in winter.

And here's a bit of winter colour...

Understandably, at my age, I even appreciate flowers when they are past their best!

Even the more muted colours of the borders have a charm...

... and I am particularly attracted to anything that I might eat!

If only these few photographs could start to do it justice...

I'm getting to love the gardens, even if my first thoughts on arrival are of the coffee and cake served at the top of the hill!

Hyde Hall is always an inspiration, but on arrival home, I couldn't help but notice that Marianne's efforts have produced colour in our own garden...
